Wednesday, July 19th:

9 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Join P/H Community Education for an exciting morning of bubble fun at the Hermantown Community Learning Center. Make larger-than-life bubbles, learn to bounce a bubble on your hand, and create bubble art. All supplies are free, and all ages are welcome.

11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Gather at Hermantown’s historic business intersection of Hwy. 53 and LaVaque Road.

  • Centricity Credit Union Backyard BBQ & a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Get back to your roots with root beer floats at Hermantown Square in front of the Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Revisit “Benson’s Corner” across Hwy. 53 for ice cream sandwiches and to see Reliable Insurance Agency’s new location, Hermantown Fusion, and Wood Magic.

4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours event. The Board of Directors hosts this business networking event for professionals representing member businesses and prospective members.

4 p.m. – 7 p.m. – Meatball Dinner and jam session at Grace Lutheran Church located at 5454 Hwy. 53. Join us for a delicious meatball dinner - $15 for adults and $10 for ages 4-12. After dinner, starting at 7:00 p.m., there will be a free music, vocal, and instrumental jam session for 1 hour in the church sanctuary.

6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – Pet Parade registration begins at 6:00, with the parade to follow at 6:30 at the Hermantown Governmental Services Building entrance.

 

Thursday, July 20th:

5 a.m. – 9 p.m. – Open House at the YMCA to check out the entire facility and programs all day long.

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Do North Pizzeria and Pub’s “Piston’s ‘n Pizza” lunch and “Classic Car Show”

Daily specials will be available for purchase.

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free Family bowling at Skyline Social & Games which includes shoes and bowling bowls. First come first serve on all 22 lanes. Reservations are available online at skylinesocialandgames.com.

3 p.m. – 5 p.m. – Bob Noldin Memorial, free open ice skating for all ages at the Hermantown Arena along with hot chocolate and cookies. Ice skates are available to use.

5 p.m. – 7 p.m. – YMCA Block Party at the Y in the back parking lot area. Free BBQ food and beverages along with family activities on site.

9p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Movie in the Park, “Free Willy” at Stebner Soccer Park on Maple Grove Road.

 

Friday, July 21st:

9 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Learn to play pickleball at the HHS tennis courts. Extra paddles will be available. Open to ages eight and up. Ages 8-12 need to be accompanied by an adult.

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – “Lunch on the Shore” at North Shore Bank.

12 p.m. – 3 p.m. – “Ice Cream Social” at Kolar, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac.

4 p.m. – 7 p.m. – Arnold’s Roadside Café free community dinner. Enjoy pulled pork, potato salad, and soda or water in either indoor or outdoor seating. Happy days are here again at Arnold’s located in beautiful downtown Adolph at the intersection of Hwy. 2 and Midway Road.

5 p.m. – 8 p.m. – “Home Run Derby” Hermantown Youth Baseball 13U at Fichtner Field #2.

6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – Annual “Miss Hermantown Pageant” at HHS Auditorium. The Deke Grussendorf Volunteer of the Year Award will also be presented. Free Admission.

7 p.m. – 1 a.m. – Summer Fest Tent Party at the Beacon Sports Bar. The headliner is POPROCKS, the opening act by Rafe Carlson. Parking in the main lot, on the south side of Hermantown Road, and both sides south of Getchell Road. A shuttle bus will be running all night for distant parking.

 

Saturday, July 22nd:

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – History Center Open House – Hermantown Community Bldg., located at 5255 Maple Grove Rd.

11 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Fran Hubert Memorial Parade, due to the Ugstad Road reconstruction, will follow a new parade route. The staging area will be in front of the bus garages. The parade will start at the gravel exit nearest to the YMCA, turn right, and travel west on Arrowhead Road ending at Lindahl Road. Spectators can park in front or side parking lots at the Hermantown Elementary School or up at the Community Learning Center and High School parking lots and walk down.

11 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Memorial Blood Center blood drive “Band Together To Save Lives” at Fichtner stations along the little league 1st baseline. Call Michele at 218-740-1541 to pre-register for this Hermantown Police and Fire-sponsored event.

12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Free children and family fun activities at Fichtner Field – Doucette’s play stations, miniature train rides, food vendors, and more. Park in the 2 blacktop lots in Fichtner Field as well as up at the gravel lots, Community History Center, and behind the little league field.

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Open House at Fire Hall No. 1. Come see the fire engines, equipment, and demos, and enjoy a free hot dog!

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Hermantown Alumni Boys Baseball game at Fichtner Field. Come watch 40 former “Hawk Stars of the Diamond” take the field to play ball!

3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Informal Reunion of HHS Classes 1942-89. This 5-decade HHS Alumni and friends gathering will be held at the Shrine building at 5152 Hwy 53. Bring your HHS memories!

7:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. – Summer Fest Tent Party at the Beacon Sports Bar. The headliner will be RHINO with the opening by Rafe Carlson. Same parking arrangements as Friday.

 

Sunday, July 23rd

6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – Evening of musical worship at Faith Baptist Church near Maple Grove roundabout, followed by an ice cream social.


All five days from July 19-23:  Let’s Read and Exercise Together from page 1 to the next in the HHS forest. “The Good Night Gorilla” by Peggy Rathmann will be displayed along the forest path for everyone of all ages to enjoy at their own pace. Start at the HHS large student parking lot on the side of the auditorium.
