QUICK TIPS:
1. Bring a resume (but don’t hide behind it)
Have copies ready—but be prepared to talk about yourself without just handing over paper.

2. Look ready to be hired
Dress one level above the job you want. First impressions still matter more than people want to admit.

3. Introduce yourself and start a conversation
Make eye contact, offer a handshake, and say something simple:
“Hi, I’m ___, I’m really interested in what you do.”
That alone puts you ahead of half the room.

Follow up within 24 hours
Even a short email saying “Great to meet you” can separate you from everyone else they met that day.

Bottom line: resumes get you in the door, but conversations get you hired.
