Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood. And you don't have to be a fitness fanatic to reap the benefits. Research indicates that modest amounts of exercise can make a real difference.

May is National Mental Health Month.  At this month's luncheon, we're going to hear from a panel of people who come at both mental health and physical fitness from different angles, but all who can share the benefits fitness has on our mental health.

Special thanks to our chamber member 9Round for collaborating with us on this important topic, and to our presenters from 9Round, MN Warriors, YMCA at the Essentia Wellness Center (Hermantown), and Boys & Girls Club of the Northland

Meet our panel:

Tammy Sundbom
She currently serves as the Resource Development Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland where she works to support the mission of providing essential resources and support to the youth in our region. A personal mission of hers is to break down access barriers for youth mental health.
 Andy Qualy & Chuck Freiberg
Andy Qualy is the original founder of Minnesota Warriors Hockey. His overall mission as a licensed Social Worker is to provide help and support to veterans and their families overcome the challenges of life during and after their time serving.
 Johanna Rich
She currently owns and contributes to the operations within 9Round in Duluth. She grew up in the Twin Cities and became involved with this kickboxing gym facility down there. She was never involved in sports, but became quickly interested in kickboxing which led to her opening this facility in Duluth!
